Number 10: Don’t interlock fingers: otherwise, snap, crackle, pop could mean more than a breakfast cereal.
Number 9: When dancing, be aware of your surroundings… you are dancing not playing contact sports.
Number 8: Stand tall and be proud… you don’t have to adjust to your partner’s height.
Number 7: You can wiggle the top or wiggle the bottom but never both at the same time
Number 6: Always take small back steps… you don’t want to create too much distance between you and your partner.
Number 5:No High Stepping… your dancing not kick starting a motorcycle.
Number 4: No clown size steps… smaller steps are better.
Number 3: Don’t Jerk and Pull… you’re dancing, not making taffy.
Number 2: Keep your feet low to the ground… we’re not marching in a parade.
… And the Number 1 bad habit I see on the dance floor, is “Cranking up the Old Dodge”… you’re dancing not starting up an old car.
As I said before, don’t feel too bad if you saw yourself in some of these examples.
By eliminating these habits from you repertoire, you automatically become a better dancer. I guarantee, the next time you get out there on the dance floor, you’ll have a much better time.
